New Gay Television Show Launches
City Channel, the local television broadcaster with stations in Dublin, Galway and Waterford today (6th June 2007) announced the launch of its new television programme aimed at the Gay, Lesbian and Transgender community.
“GAY OK!”, which commences transmission on Tuesday June 12th @ 10pm will feature a mix of several topics. The team intend to interview successful members of the gay community and attend large events in the gay calendar. The programme will be exploring and explaining fashion fads, seeking the opinions of gay Ireland and helping to solve personal problems.
GAY OK! is presented by Joe Kearney and Rose Martin, both of whom are no strangers to television presenting but are appearing in a Gay-only programme for the first time !
Commenting on the programme, Vanessa Kaminski, City Channels Head of Programmes said, “We are looking forward to seeing GAY OK! on screen. The programme unpins our philosophy of providing new and innovative television. As the broadcaster of a number of unique programming strands we feel we are getting closer to the diverse audience we serve”.
City Channel came on air in Dublin in October 2005 and has since expanded its activities into Waterford and Galway. Its programming is a strong mix of lifestyle, entertainment and information with subjects that appeal to its local audiences. Short, focused programmes offering viewers a “slice of life” from a wide range of city perspectives on subjects like – property, motoring, fashion, happenings, finance, leisure and current affairs. These are mixed with ongoing updates and a variety of texting and competitive opportunities. City Channel is different to conventional broadcasters in that it reflects the happenings in its home city as a core element of its ongoing output.
City Channel is available on NTL digital Channel 107 in Dublin and also on analogue in Galway and Waterford.
