City Channel Reveals Female Presenters And Show Line Up
City Channel Limited, the company behind Dublin’s new local television station today announced the names of their female presenters and their show line up. Female presenters include Cliodhna O’ Donoghue, Sarah Maunsell, Orla Rapple, Catherine Blake, Ali Sugg and Laura Wood.
Cliodhna will present and co-produce “Property View” a programme containing property news reports, information on market trends, new developments and auction properties. This look at ‘what’s hot and what’s not’ will also include overseas and investment property advice as well as warnings to those on the home hunting trail. Sarah will present the DVD Review show called “The Small Screen”. Orla will present a monthly gig guide entitled “Spotlight”. Catherine will report for “Cityline” which will feature local Dublin news. Ali will feature on City Channel’s Planet Zodiac. Laura will present the new hip fashion show on Dublins’ City Channel “Fashion Forward”, an eagerly anticipated makeover show which will feature Dublins’ Brown Thomas store in programme one.
City Channel will be on air in early October 2005 providing local television to Dubliners. The service will be carried on the NTL digital platform in Dublin and will form part of NTL’s digital standard television subscription package. Broadcasting to 100,000 homes initially, this will give City Channel a potential audience of 400,000 individuals in an area stretching from Dundalk to Greystones.
The City Channel service will broadcast 24 hours, seven days a week. It will be a niche service providing dedicated information and entertainment specifically of interest to the Dublin area. Programming will include lifestyle subjects such as motoring, property, local, government, Dublin culture, what-on guide, shopping and travel, in addition to transport and weather updates.
City Channel is backed by broadcaster and businessman David Harvey and a number of private investors. Commenting on the announcement David Harvey said; “We are delighted to have such a high calibre of talented female journalists on our team. The range of experience each brings to their respective show will guarantee interesting television viewing to watch and ensure that it is of relevance to local audiences”.
City Channel will offer affordable access to television for small and medium sized businesses all over the greater Dublin area, with tailored and local trader packages, as well as a number of sponsorship opportunities.
