Mike McCartney
Mike is from Castledaly on the main Gort to Loughrea road about a half an hour from Galway city. After spending over twenty three years on radio he was appointed sports editor of the Athlone Voice newspaper but he can still be heard on local and national stations as well as networks speaking on or reporting on sporting issues. Last year he recieved a McNamee award for a documentary on the former Clare hurler Jamsie O'Connor.
